About Luxeed

Origins and ownership

Luxeed (Chinese name Zhijie) is Chery's premium electric brand and, in China, a member of Huawei's HIMA alliance1. The S7 sedan launched on 28 November 2023 and the R7 coupe SUV on 24 September 20241. Wikipedia lists the operating company, Anhui Luxeed New Energy Automobile, as set up in January 2025 and wholly owned by Chery; Huawei agreed in June 2024 to hand the Chinese trademark to Chery2. In August 2025 Chery and Huawei signed a "Phase 2.0" deal: over RMB 10 billion for R&D and a 5,000-person R&D team1. Cars are built in Wuhu, Anhui.

Technology

In China, Luxeed cars use Huawei's driver assistance and HarmonyOS cockpit. The updated S7 and R7 of March 2026 come with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 and an 896-channel lidar as standard5. The R7 has an 800 V system and a 30-80% charge in 15 minutes for the 2024 and 2025 versions8.

Export cars will differ. Shawn Xu, CEO of Omoda & Jaecoo International (part of Chery), said: "For international, Luxeed is not related to Huawei. There is nothing, including the hardware and the software." A 36Kr report, relayed by CnEVPost, says export models will use Chery's own electrical architecture, Falcon driver assistance and Lingxi cockpit7. Export powertrains are not confirmed7.

China's V9 MPV is a range-extender with up to 1,250 km combined range and rear-wheel steering6. Autotrader NZ quotes 1,320 km CLTC for the LLounge, a different figure7.

Main models

The S7 is an electric sedan and the R7 a coupe SUV. The March 2026 update started at RMB 239,800 for the S7 and RMB 259,800 for the R75. The V9 seven-seat MPV launched on 15 May 2026 at RMB 389,800 to 519,8006.

The export line-up is different in name. The V9 will be sold abroad as the LLounge, a six- or seven-seat luxury MPV developed for right-hand drive. The RX, an 800 V performance SUV with two motors making 460 kW and a claimed 0-100 km/h in under 3.9 seconds, becomes the Stormax7. Prices are China prices.

Sales and exports

Luxeed reached 100,000 cumulative deliveries on 27 May 2025, about 18 months after the S7 launch3. Luxeed says R7 deliveries passed 120,000 on 28 September 20268.

No export sales have been reported. Reported plans for right-hand-drive markets: Thailand in early 2027, then Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia; New Zealand around mid-2027; the UK a little later7. For Australia the CEO proposed the end of Q2 2027 for the LLounge, which must pass local testing first7. In May 2026 Luxeed said it was talking to more than 30 global dealers; this is a company statement9. A Chinese battery-electric or range-extended car sold in the EU faces countervailing duty of 17.0% to 35.3% depending on the maker10.

Reputation and after-sales abroad

We found no Euro NCAP or other independent crash rating for Luxeed models.

The early record has a clear weak point. In January 2024, LatePost-sourced reporting said S7 delivery times had stretched from four to six weeks to ten to twelve, with the second Wuhu plant making fewer than ten cars a day. Luxeed offered up to RMB 10,000 for late deliveries4.

Export buyers should also note that praise for the China cars' Huawei driver assistance will not apply to export versions, which will carry different software7. No overseas dealer or service network has been announced, so after-sales abroad is unproven.

Who it suits

Luxeed suits right-hand-drive buyers who want a large luxury MPV or fast SUV from a major carmaker and accept that export cars carry Chery's software, not Huawei's. It suits less well a buyer who wants the China-spec Huawei system, or needs a local service point from day one.

Buying through CRAVEUO

CRAVEUO can supply this brand directly. The car is exported by a Chinese export company authorised by the maker, and the contract names that licensed exporter. Since 2026 China requires an export licence for battery-electric passenger cars, applied for by the authorised company. The software language, the driver-assistance package and the warranty are set out item by item in the quotation, and we do not promise any warranty term or mileage here. Ask for an FOB quote on craveuo.com or WhatsApp +44 7950 045431.
