Luxeed RX launches in China: what overseas buyers should know

Luxeed, the brand developed by Chery with Huawei, launched the RX electric coupe SUV in China on 28 September 2026. There are six versions. CnEVPost reported that orders opened on 20 August and an 81 kWh version was added on 20 September.

The RX is 5,020 mm long, 2,007 mm wide and 1,585 mm high, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. It uses either an 81 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery or a 100 kWh ternary lithium battery, with a CLTC range of up to 852 km. The rear-wheel-drive version has one motor of up to 277 kW. All-wheel-drive versions add a 160 kW front motor. Luxeed quotes as little as 3.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, and 800V charging from 30% to 80% in about 15 minutes. The driver-assistance system uses four LiDAR units within a 38-sensor suite. At the August pre-sale, CnEVPost said the RX sat at the upper end of the price range of the Xiaomi YU7, its main rival.

CnEVPost's report on the launch does not mention where the car is built, how many have been delivered, or any overseas sales plan.

What this means for buyers outside China

1. 1.The RX is a China launch, and the brand has not announced an export programme in the reports we checked. Any RX sold abroad today would be bought in China and exported by a licensed Chinese company.
2. 2.Its software is built around Huawei's system for the Chinese market. Ask in writing whether your language, maps, navigation and connected services will work in your country, and which driver-assistance features are limited to China.
3. 3.Ask which battery and which version a quote is for, because the 81 kWh and 100 kWh versions are priced differently.
4. 4.Check the range figure. The 852 km figure is a CLTC number, and the WLTP figure for the same car will normally be lower.
