Jetour T1 i-DM: South Africa launched the plug-in hybrid in April, Pakistan in August. What each market shows buyers

Two recent launches show how the Jetour T1 i-DM, a five-seat plug-in hybrid SUV, is being rolled out. In South Africa it went on sale at a gala in Pretoria on 14 April 2026, at R689,900 for the T1 i-DM and R779,900 for the T2 i-DM (The Citizen, 15 April 2026). The Citizen reported that South Africa is the first global right-hand-drive market to receive any plug-in hybrid Jetour. In Pakistan the T1 i-DM was launched at the Expo Centre in Lahore, with a booking amount of Rs 2 million (ProPakistani, 28 August 2026).

The specifications agree across the two reports. The T1 i-DM pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with an electric motor and an 18.4 kWh battery. The Citizen lists 250 kW and 530 Nm of combined output, 100 km of electric range and 1,200 km in total (claimed). ProPakistani gives 340 hp, 530 Nm, and the same 100 km and 1,200 km. In South Africa the T1 i-DM also takes DC charging up to 50 kW, about 27 minutes for 30-80%, and can power external devices at up to 3.3 kW.

The Pakistani price is not settled. ProPakistani reported on 28 August that the price would be announced after the new auto policy, yet PakWheels published Rs 10,799,000 on 1 September 2026. Treat that figure as unconfirmed until Jetour publishes an official price list for Pakistan. We found no official announcement of a UAE launch date for the T1 i-DM, and we did not use price listings from aggregator sites because they disagree.

What this means for buyers

  1. 1.Local prices are not export prices. The rand and rupee figures are retail prices for those two markets. They are not export prices from China and say nothing about the price in your country.
  2. 2.South African warranty terms are local. The Citizen lists a 7-year / 200,000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year / 160,000 km battery warranty and a 7-year / 75,000 km service plan included in the South African price. Those are terms in that market; a car exported from China does not automatically carry them. Ask in writing who gives warranty and parts support in your country.
  3. 3.A launch in one country says little about another. South Africa is a right-hand-drive market, so check the steering side of the version you are offered, along with charging plug and local rules.
  4. 4.Plug-in hybrids are on China's export licence list. Ask for the name of the licensed exporter before you pay a deposit.
  5. 5.Booking amounts are not delivery dates. Get the delivery date in writing.

If you are interested in the T1 i-DM, send an inquiry with your country and the version you want. We will check whether it can be sourced through a licensed export route; the formal quote sets the price and terms.
