Voyah joins China's new-carmaker list; Dream 9 right-hand drive heads overseas in November

China's industry ministry published batch 412 of its vehicle-maker catalogue on 16 October 2026, and Voyah Automobile Technology, the premium electric brand of Dongfeng, is on the list of new manufacturer entries, marked as a member of the Dongfeng Group (IT Home, 17 October). CnEVPost reports that Voyah's new address is No. 8 Yunfeng Avenue in Wuhan, while Dongfeng deregistered the same plant, a move it compares with Luxeed in the same batch. The comment period ran to 23 October and we found no report of final approval, so treat it as proposed. Voyah has not said that this changes any product.

For context, Voyah delivered 13,025 vehicles in September and 115,481 in January to September, up 19% (IT Home; CnEVPost's September roundup). It listed on the Hong Kong main board on 19 March 2026.

The nearest overseas product step is the Dream 9, a seven-seat MPV launched in China on 22 September from RMB 419,900 (official China retail price). The plug-in hybrid has a 65 kWh battery, 340 km of CLTC electric range and 1,500 km combined. The electric version has a 120 kWh battery and 701 km CLTC. All versions use an 800 V platform. The car is 5,325 mm long with a 3,200 mm wheelbase. CnEVPost says a right-hand-drive version will go overseas from November. In an interview on 22 September, chairman Lu Fang said it would reach Hong Kong in the fourth quarter and that sales and after-sales systems are still being built (National Business Daily, 24 September).

What this means for buyers outside China

  1. 1.Ask which legal entity is named as manufacturer on your export documents, and check that it matches the model approval in your country.
  2. 2.The Dream 9 version announced for overseas is right-hand drive. We found no report of a left-hand-drive export version, so left-hand-drive markets should ask in writing.
  3. 3.The RMB prices are China retail prices, not export prices, and CLTC range figures are not comparable with WLTP.
  4. 4.A buyer who needs left-hand drive may want to ask about the Voyah Free, a different model that we can quote.

If you are interested in the Voyah Free or another Voyah model, send an inquiry with your country and the version you want. We will check whether it can be registered there and what the export route is, and send an FOB reference price; the formal quote decides the final price.
