Geely M9 (Galaxy M9) opens UAE pre-orders at AED 159,900: what to check before you buy one

Geely has opened pre-orders in the UAE for the Galaxy M9, a six-seat plug-in hybrid SUV sold there as the Geely M9. CarNewsChina reported on 21 September 2026 a pre-booking price of AED 159,900 (about USD 43,540 at its conversion), a pre-order deposit of AED 5,000 and a single trim level.

The UAE version is a tri-motor plug-in hybrid with a 1.5-litre engine and a 41.46 kWh battery. CarNewsChina lists 640 kW (858 hp) of combined peak power, 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, an electric range of 210 km on the CLTC cycle (172 km on WLTP) and more than 1,100 km combined. The body is 5,205 mm long and 1,999 mm wide, with seats in three rows (2+2+2). Power figures differ between reports: Khaleej Times, citing a Middle East media brief on 3 May 2026, gave system power as up to 520 kW. Ask for the spec sheet of the exact version.

The same report compares the price with UAE rivals: Kia Telluride AED 163,695, Nissan Pathfinder AED 158,000 and Honda Pilot AED 176,000. In China the M9 is priced from RMB 183,800 to RMB 248,800 (China domestic price, not an export price). CarNewsChina, citing China EV DataTracker, counted 29,980 sales from January to August 2026, down 25.8% on a year earlier.

What this means for buyers outside the UAE

  1. 1.The UAE price is a local pre-booking price in dirhams. It is not an export price from China and does not tell you what the car would cost in your country.
  2. 2.This is a pre-order. The report gives no delivery date. Whatever the seller says, get the date in writing.
  3. 3.We found no confirmed launch dates for other countries, and the Khaleej Times piece gave none. Do not assume a car sold in the UAE is available or approved where you live.
  4. 4.Plug-in hybrids are already on China's export licence list. Ask for the name of the licensed exporter that will appear on the customs papers before you pay a deposit.
  5. 5.Check what changes between markets: steering side, charging plug, language and map support, and the equipment on your version. The equipment in the report (a 30-inch screen, a built-in fridge) may differ by market, so confirm what your version has.
  6. 6.Ask who handles warranty and parts in your country. The report does not state warranty terms.
