Buying a car: questions and answers
Can I buy a Chinese electric car from abroad?
Yes. Choose a model and send an inquiry; we ask licensed Chinese export companies for a formal quote and send it to you; the export company handles the export formalities and ships the car to your country. See more ›
Which countries can you ship to?
We publish import rules, duties and landed estimates for 201 countries, and other countries can ask too. Sanctioned countries are not served. For the EU and the UK we only take inquiries from private buyers for their own use and quote only the China port price (FOB). See more ›
Are the cars left- or right-hand drive?
Left-hand drive as standard. Some models are also made in a right-hand-drive version for right-hand-drive markets, as the model page says; quotes for those countries use it. Some countries ban cars with the opposite steering, as their country page says.
What does the price on the site include?
The FOB price includes the export licence, new-car export formalities, inland transport to the port, port charges and the export inspection. Once you choose a country, sea freight and insurance (CIF) and import taxes (landed) are estimated. All are reference prices rounded to the nearest $100; the formal quote decides.
How do I pay? Is there a deposit first?
No payment on this website and nothing before the contract is signed. Pay only the company account on the proforma invoice — we never change bank details by email or chat.
Who signs the contract?
Each order's contract is signed by the licensed Chinese export company named in it; before you sign, we send you its business licence and export credentials to check. CRAVEUO is the inquiry platform, not the seller. See more ›
How long does it take?
Shipment about 30–45 days after the contract and the payment it sets (export licence, sailing schedule and EV dangerous-goods space permitting), plus the sea transit. Sea transit depends on the destination port; the country pages give an estimate.
Who handles customs clearance and registration in my country?
You do, or a local customs broker we recommend; that part is quoted separately.
Is there a warranty?
The warranty's scope and length are those in the contract. A car exported abroad may not have the maker's China warranty; the quote says what applies. Parts can be requested by VIN on the Parts page. See more ›
Will the head unit and the charging port work in my country?
Most cars on the site are China-market versions: the head-unit language, connected features abroad and whether an overseas version can be supplied are confirmed when you ask. Country pages list the local charging connectors; a China-standard (GB/T) port may need an adapter.
How quickly do you reply?
