How to import a Chinese electric car into Colombia (2026)

Quick answer

A new pure-electric car pays 0% customs duty under Decreto 2051 of 2019 and 5% IVA today, against 19% for most goods. A bill filed on 29 Oct 2026 would raise hybrids and electric cars to 19% from 1 Jan 2028; it is not law. Hybrid duty is less clear, so this guide gives no figure for it.
