Exports go through a Chinese export company (export agency, named in the contract), which handles the export licence, customs, inspection and shipping. Since 2026 pure-electric passenger cars need a Chinese export licence.

The story behind the name
Deepal comes from 深蓝 (Shenlan), 'Deep Blue' – Changan's new-energy brand launched in 2022, named for the deep ocean and night sky as a symbol of technology and the future.
