The story behind the name
NIO's Chinese name 蔚来 (Wèilái) means 'Blue Sky Coming', a promise of cleaner air, and sounds like 未来, 'the future'. Its battery-swap stations let owners exchange a flat pack for a full one instead of waiting to charge.
