About Maextro

Origins and ownership

Maextro (Chinese name Zunjie) is an ultra-luxury electric-car brand set up in 2024 by JAC Group. It is the fourth member of Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, HIMA1. Huawei's Richard Yu announced the brand on 6 August 2024 and said it would be benchmarked against Maybach and Rolls-Royce2. JAC builds the cars and engineers the chassis; Huawei supplies product design input, driver assistance, infotainment and drive components1. No source gives ownership percentages. The Hefei factory, completed on 16 December 2024, is reported at 200,000 cars a year, with 86 quality gates and nearly 1,500 robots1.

Technology

The S800 is 5,480 mm long with a 3,370 mm wheelbase. The three-motor electric version makes 635 kW (852 hp). The range-extended version has a 65 kWh, 800 V battery and 6C charging at 390 kW, 10-80% in 10.5 minutes3. The electric version has a 97 kWh ternary battery rated at 702 or 650 km on China's CLTC cycle4.

Four-wheel steering gives a 5.05 m turning radius and a 16-degree "crab" mode. The car has 32 sensors, including four 192-line lidars3. The June 2026 Grand Design uses Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 with six lidars, a 120 kWh pack (780 km CLTC) in the electric version, and 1,200 km combined range in the range-extended one5.

These are maker claims on China's CLTC cycle; real-world range will differ. Whether Huawei software and driver assistance would be fitted to cars sold abroad has not been stated; the quotation will say so item by item.

Main models

The S800 full-size sedan went on sale on 30 May 2025. Prices run from RMB 708,000 to RMB 1,018,000 for electric and range-extended versions, including four-seat cars4. The four-seat S800 Grand Design launched on 25 June 2026 from RMB 1.388 million5.

Two MPVs launched on 5 August 2026, both range-extended with a 65 kWh battery and a 1.5-litre turbo engine. The V800 costs RMB 766,000, 866,000 or 1,016,000 and is quoted at up to 1,335 km combined range; the V680 costs RMB 648,000 at 1,208 km6. These are China prices.

Sales and exports

Richard Yu said at the Grand Design launch that S800 deliveries had passed 19,0005. ECC Intelligence data, relayed by Quotidiano Motori, put January-April 2026 S800 sales at 5,4657. The V800 and V680 took 2,115 firm orders in the first hour, according to Yu6.

No overseas launch has been announced; Quotidiano Motori says Maextro sells only through the domestic HIMA network7. A Chinese battery-electric or range-extended car sold in the EU faces countervailing duty of 17.0% to 35.3% depending on the maker, for five years from 30 October 202411.

Reputation and after-sales abroad

We found no independent crash-test rating for the S800.

There are public disputes. In March 2025 Huawei sued a Chinese car influencer for about US$140,000 over his criticism of a comparison video; he announced a US$340,000 countersuit and no ruling was reported8. On 8 October 2026 the Dongchedi platform reported that the brake-pedal bracket broke on three V800 MPVs during repeated emergency stops from 100 km/h. Maextro called the conditions non-standard and extreme, said no bracket had broken in customer use, and promised a redesign and free owner upgrade910. On 15 October 2026 three Chinese agencies formed a joint investigation team; no findings have been reported10. This concerns the V800, not the S800.

Maextro has no announced overseas service network, so after-sales abroad is unproven.

Who it suits

Maextro suits a buyer who wants a very large, chauffeur-style Chinese flagship and accepts that it is new, sold mainly in China and not yet proven abroad. It suits less well a buyer who needs an official local service point, or who wants the open brake-bracket investigation settled first.

Buying through CRAVEUO

CRAVEUO can supply this brand directly. The car is exported by a Chinese export company authorised by the maker, and the contract names that licensed exporter. Since 2026 China requires an export licence for battery-electric passenger cars, applied for by the authorised company. The software language and the warranty are set out item by item in the quotation, and we do not promise any warranty term or mileage here. Ask for an FOB quote on craveuo.com or WhatsApp +44 7950 045431.
