The story
Denza is BYD's premium brand, and the Z9 GT is its flagship luxury model. Denza first showed the Z9 GT in Milan in April 2025 and announced its entry into Europe. The model launched in Paris in April 2026, with pre-sale prices starting at about 115,000 euros. According to BYD, the event also marked the European debut of its Flash Charging technology, rated at a peak of 1,500 kW.
The story behind the name
Denza is an invented name from the Chinese 腾势 (Téngshì), roughly 'rising power and momentum'. The brand began in 2010 as a BYD–Daimler joint venture before BYD took full control, and the Z9 GT is its long-tail shooting-brake grand tourer.
