Exports go through a Chinese export company (export agency, named in the contract), which handles the export licence, customs, inspection and shipping. Since 2026 pure-electric passenger cars need a Chinese export licence.

The story behind the name
Denza (腾势, 'soaring power') began in 2010 as a BYD–Daimler joint venture and became wholly BYD-owned in 2024. The N7 grew out of the Denza Inception concept shown in 2022.
