The story behind the name

Denza (腾势) began in 2010 as a BYD–Daimler joint venture; BYD took full control in 2024. The D9 MPV went on sale in August 2022, drew 3,000 orders in 30 minutes and by June 2025 had passed 250,000 units, which Denza says is a first for any new-energy MPV.

How to buy the Denza D9 from China

  1. Choose the version and colour.
  2. A licensed Chinese exporter sends you a written quote.
  3. Sign the contract; you pay only after signing.
  4. Inspect the car, or see it on a video call, before it ships.
  5. It ships by RoRo or container and is delivered to you (DAP); a local customs agent clears it.

In the EU or the UK? We only export to private buyers for their own use, not to dealers. A China-market car needs individual approval (IVA) in your country before it can be registered — cost and time vary by country; EU import duty is 10%, plus your country's VAT. If a model can't get approval, we tell you straight away.

Denza D9 buyer questions

How much does the Denza D9 cost in China?

The cheapest second-generation D9 is the plug-in hybrid Flash Charging Luxury at RMB 329,800 (CarNewsChina, 2026-07-17). The April 2026 launch versions were RMB 359,800-459,800 for plug-in hybrids and RMB 369,800-469,800 for battery-electric (CarNewsChina, 2026-04-27). Those are China prices, not export prices; CRAVEUO EV Export gives a written quote per order.

What is the range of the Denza D9?

The plug-in hybrid Luxury is rated 350 km electric and 1,480 km combined; other plug-in versions list over 400 km electric. The 115 kWh battery-electric versions are rated 800 km (front-drive) and 750 km (AWD) on the CLTC cycle (CarNewsChina, 2026-07-17; CarNewsChina, 2026-04-27). Real-world range is usually lower.

How many seats and what size is the Denza D9?

The D9 is an MPV, 5,250 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,900 mm high, on a 3,110 mm wheelbase (CarNewsChina, 2026-04-27). The D9 sold in the UK is a seven-seater (Fleet World, checked 2026-10-28). Ask us which seat layout applies to the version you want.

How fast does the Denza D9 charge?

Denza rates the 58.5 kWh plug-in hybrid at 10-70% in 5 minutes and 10-97% in 9 minutes (Fleet World, checked 2026-10-28). China-market cars use GB/T sockets, while many other markets use Type 2 and CCS2, so an adapter may be needed (Akyga, 2025-08-27). Ask us which version you would receive.

Can I import the Denza D9 into my country?

It depends on your country's registration rules and on supply. Export availability depends on the brand's authorised exporters — ask us to check before you plan a purchase. China has required an export licence for pure electric cars since 1 January 2026 (CnEVPost, 2025-09-26). The China-market car is left-hand drive. Send us your country and we will check.
