The story behind the name
XPeng was founded in 2014 by He Xiaopeng and others; MONA stands for 'Made Of New AI'. The sub-brand grew out of a ride-hailing car project XPeng acquired from Didi, and the M03 launched in August 2024 as XPeng's first car aimed at the mass market.
