The story behind the name
'Air' signals something light and fresh; its Chinese name Qingkong means 'clear sky'. Wuling ('five rhombi') dates back to the Liuzhou microvan maker of the 1980s; SAIC-GM-Wuling kept the name when the joint venture was formed in 2002.
