From 2026 battery-electric cars are exempt from import duty and VAT (electrive, 11 Aug 2026); sources conflict on plug-in hybrids and range extenders, which are still shown at the normal rates — to be confirmed.

The story behind the name
Launched on 29 July 2025, the i8 is Li Auto's first battery-electric SUV and the flagship of its i-series. It carries over the one-box look of the MEGA MPV but as a six-seat SUV, with 5C charging that adds about 500 km in ten minutes.
