Exports go through a Chinese export company (export agency, named in the contract), which handles the export licence, customs, inspection and shipping. Since 2026 pure-electric passenger cars need a Chinese export licence.

The story behind the name
AITO ('Adding Intelligence to Auto') is the Seres-Huawei brand founded in 2021. The M8, launched in 2025, is a full-size SUV between the M7 and the flagship M9, built in Chongqing with Huawei's driver assistance and cockpit.
