Exports go through a Chinese export company (export agency, named in the contract), which handles the export licence, customs, inspection and shipping. Since 2026 pure-electric passenger cars need a Chinese export licence.

The story behind the name
AITO stands for 'Adding Intelligence to Auto'; its Chinese name 问界 (Wènjiè) means roughly 'asking the world'. The brand was founded in December 2021 by Seres with Huawei, which leads product design and supplies the powertrain, driver assistance and software through its HIMA alliance.
