About the brand
smart is a 50:50 joint venture of Geely and Mercedes-Benz, founded in 2019 to build small urban electric cars. Its China line-up includes the smart #1, #3 and #5, and the smart #2 was shown at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. Europe is a core market, with the #2 planned to reach European buyers by the end of 2026 through smart Europe GmbH.
