The story behind the name

Roewe was created by SAIC in 2006 after it bought the Rover 75's designs but not the Rover name; 'Roewe' plays on the German Löwe (lion) and 荣威 means 'glorious power'.

The D5X lists 135 km electric range and 1,300 km combined range on the CLTC test cycle with a 21.5 kWh battery (CarNewsChina, 2024-05-20). The database also shows 105 km in a separate row (CarNewsChina database, 2026-10-28). Real-world range is usually lower.
