Exports go through a Chinese export company (export agency, named in the contract), which handles the export licence, customs, inspection and shipping. Since 2026 pure-electric passenger cars need a Chinese export licence.

Lynk & Co was founded by Geely in 2016; the name joins the internal code 'Lynk' (for connected cars) with '& Co' for a young, fashion-label feel.
