The story behind the name

Leapmotor was founded in Hangzhou in December 2015 by Fu Liquan and Zhu Jiangming, co-founders of the camera maker Dahua; 零跑 (Língpǎo) means 'zero run'. In 2023 Stellantis bought about 20% for €1. 5 billion and formed Leapmotor International to sell the cars abroad.

Sohu's auto database lists every C01 model year from 2022 to 2024 as discontinued, and CarNewsChina's database shows 17 units sold in January 2026 (checked 2026-10-28). We do not quote a current price; ask us what can be sourced.

What is the range of the Leapmotor C01?

The 2024 pure-electric C01 lists up to 625 km on the CLTC test cycle with a 78.5 kWh LFP battery (CarNewsChina database, 2026-10-28). The range-extender versions list 216 km or 316 km of electric range on CLTC plus a 1.5 L engine (CnEVPost, 2023-09-20). Real-world range is usually lower.

Can I import the Leapmotor C01 into my country?

It depends on your country's import and registration rules (drive side, age, type approval) and on supply. Export availability depends on the brand's authorised exporters — ask us to check before you plan a purchase. The China-market C01 is left-hand drive; stock may be limited.
