The story behind the name
Qin is the first car in BYD's 'Dynasty' series, named after the Qin dynasty, which first unified China in 221 BC. The Qin Plus went on sale in March 2021; its DM-i 'super hybrid' system lets it run mostly on electricity, and cheap 'Champion' and 'Honor' editions helped it take sales from petrol saloons.
