Not new. No exporter is authorised to export new Xiaomi cars, and Xiaomi says it will only look at overseas sales from 2027. The only route is a nearly-new used car that has been registered in China for at least 180 days, and it has no maker warranty abroad. Why a new Xiaomi cannot be exported

China exports cars through licensed exporters, and since 1 January 2026 pure-electric passenger cars also need a MOFCOM export licence. A new car can only be exported legally if the carmaker allows it through an authorised channel. Xiaomi has no authorised exporter for new cars. According to Yicai Global, Xiaomi's founder said the company will focus on China and look at overseas sales from 2027 (the article's date is not shown on the page, so check for newer news).

If a seller offers you a brand-new, unregistered Xiaomi YU7 or SU7 Ultra for export, ask which licensed company will declare it at Chinese customs, and ask to see the export paperwork before paying anything.

The nearly-new route: registered 180+ days

The route people use is a used car that was first registered in China and has stayed registered for at least 180 days. It is then deregistered and exported as a used vehicle.

What this means for you:

• It is a used car. It has a previous owner in China, mileage and a registration history. Ask for the mileage, the registration date and an inspection report.
• No maker warranty abroad. Xiaomi's warranty does not follow the car to your country. Plan for service and parts yourself.
• No delivery promise. Supply depends on which suitable cars are available at the time.
• Your country's rules still apply. Some countries limit the age of imported cars or treat used imports differently. Ask your customs broker before you commit.
