Step by step: from order to your door

  1. Choose version, colour and delivery city. Ask which steering side and charging inlet the export version has.
  2. Ask the seller which licensed Chinese company will declare the car for export.
  3. Sign the contract and invoice. Pay only to a company bank account whose name matches the invoice.
  4. The exporter declares the car at Chinese customs and books sea freight to Beirut.
  5. You receive the shipping documents and appoint a licensed customs broker in Lebanon. Ask the broker to confirm the tariff classification (plug-in hybrid or not) and the duty before you pay the balance.
  6. On arrival the broker files the declaration. The car goes through the red track and a detailed technical inspection.
  7. Duties and taxes are paid and the car is released.

Import rules in Lebanon

  • Duties: new plug-in hybrids get an 80% exemption from customs duty and the internal consumption tax (Customs Higher Council Decision 10/2026, dated 2026-02-13, valid to 2031-02-09). Export from China in 2026

Since 1 January 2026, pure-electric passenger cars need a MOFCOM export licence (Announcement 2025 No. 54, checked 2026-10-28). MOFCOM's 2012 notice already ties car exports to carmaker qualification and carmaker-authorised export operators. In practice the car is declared by a licensed exporter, not by the buyer. Ask any seller which licensed company will declare your car.

Does a China-spec M9 come with a warranty?
