How to import a Lynk & Co 900 from China to Bolivia
本指南目前只有英文版。
CRAVEUO EV Export · Sources last checked 2026-10-28
Quick answer
Yes, the Lynk & Co 900 can be shipped from China to Bolivia. Its delivered cost adds up the car's price in China, sea freight and overland transit, customs duty, ICE excise and IVA. The 0% ICE until 31 Dec 2026 (Decree 5653) is for pure-electric cars; the 900 is a plug-in hybrid, so confirm its rates with your customs broker. Ask for a formal quote to see each item.
Ship the Lynk & Co 900 to a Pacific port in Peru or Chile, move it overland under customs transit to Bolivia, and clear it through a Bolivian customs broker after IBMETRO and Transport Vice-Ministry approvals.

Step by step: from order to your door
- Choose version, colour and delivery city in Bolivia.
- Before ordering, ask a Bolivian customs broker (despachante de aduana) which approvals and seller documents your import needs. Share the list with the seller.
- Ask the seller which licensed Chinese company will declare the car for export.
- Sign the contract and invoice. Pay only to a company bank account whose name matches the invoice.
- The exporter declares the car in China and ships it to a Pacific port. Port options are Arica or Iquique in Chile, and Matarani or Ilo in Peru. The quote names the port used.
- The car moves overland under customs transit to Bolivia.
- Your broker files the import declaration (DUI) and you pay duties and taxes.
- Register and plate the car in Bolivia. We could not verify the current steps: ask your broker.
Pacific ports
Bolivia's port-services agency ASP-B acts as the state's customs agent for Bolivian cargo in foreign ports. It reports traffic through Arica (Chile) and through Ilo and Matarani (Peru) (ASP-B article, 2025). Iquique also handles Bolivia-linked transit cargo (DF, 2026-01-02). Ask your broker which ports can handle vehicles for your shipment.
Import rules in Bolivia
- Approvals before shipping: IBMETRO must issue a Certificado de Aceptación (Ministerial Resolutions 064/2022 and, for hybrids, 119/2025). It is required for the prior authorisation from the Vice-Ministry of Transport (IBMETRO, checked 2026-10-28). For new vehicles that authorisation asks for a technical sheet, a test report, a notarised sworn declaration, the manufacturer's original letter addressed to the applicant, and the IBMETRO certificate (VUCE, checked 2026-10-28). Ask the seller early whether they can supply these.
- Excise tax (ICE): Decree 5653 (9 July 2026) sets ICE rates for imported electric and hybrid vehicles until 31 December 2026. Its annex shows 0% for new plug-in hybrids with a spark-ignition engine (HS 8703.60) (Gaceta Oficial consultation text, checked 2026-10-28). Rates after 2026 are not known.
- Import tariff: Decree 4539 (2021) lists 0% for HS 8703.60 (Lexivox, not a legal reference). Your broker confirms the classification of the 900.
- VAT: 13% general rate (Law 843, Art. 15, version of 31 July 2026).
- Age limit: a "new" vehicle is one whose model year equals or follows the import year (Resolution 156/2020, citing Decree 28963).
- Emissions: imported vehicles must meet Euro II or equivalent; electric-only vehicles are excluded from the environmental certificate (Decree 4373, 2020). The 900 has an engine: check with a licensed customs broker in Bolivia.
- Registration: not verified. Check with a licensed customs broker in Bolivia.
Export from China in 2026
Since 1 January 2026, pure-electric passenger cars need a MOFCOM export licence (Announcement 2025 No. 54, checked 2026-10-28). MOFCOM's 2012 notice already ties car exports to carmaker qualification and carmaker-authorised export operators. In practice the car is declared by a licensed exporter, not by the buyer. Ask any seller which licensed company will declare your car.
Documents you will receive
Your contract should list each of these: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, export declaration, vehicle certificate, and the manufacturer letter and test report that Bolivia's approvals require.
CRAVEUO EV Export can quote this car delivered to your city — send your city, version and colour via the inquiry form.
